Meeka Race Day TRUCK PULL Saturday 23 th Sept 2017

A one day race meeting over the Queen’s Birthday Weekend (WA) during the Meekatharra’s Outback Festival.

With the Meekatharra Sandfire Cup sponsored by Sandfire Minerals NL  and the Doray Minerals Sprint sponsored by Doray Minerals Limited the Meekatharra Race Day is a full racing schedule.  With betting on site, licensed bar, catering, track side seating and a family area with shade and seating it is an exciting, action packed fully serviced day.

In 2016 the Meekatharra Race Club will hold the first
Annual Meekatharra Race Day TRUCK PULL.

Bring a team, make a team or join a team on the day. With a big prize pool and a just as big truck to pull this will be an extraordinary race day event.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to say you were at the first one.

The free Shire Community bus runs from Meekatharra to/from the race track Saturday/night and Monday/evening.
Please note unaccompanied children cannot ride the bus service.

One big day of racing

The Sandfire Meekatharra Cup and Doray Minerals Spring race day on the Saturday is a full 8 race schedule with betting on site, licensed bar, catering, track side seating and family area with shade and seating. Tickets and details.

Events, sponsored by our local business supporters, include the fabulous and prize giving ‘Fashions on the Field’ and the ‘Truck Pull’.

As the sun and dust settle over the hill enjoy our catering options for dinner with seating in both licensed and non-licensed areas… Then watch the track lights ‘go disco’, and join in as the band comes out and the dancing begins.

The MRC Truck Pull

The inaugural MRC Truck Pull 2016.  With an open and women’s division it’s the fastest pull to the line that wins.  A prize pool of $3000 is up for grabs.  Enter on the day in your team of 6.  Costumes and theme teams encouraged with a special $ prize for the best – as judged by our esteemed race day judges. (18+ entrants only)

ID will be required at time of entry for 18+

Entry tickets are available at the race track gate along with bar tickets. ID bracelets are handed out, and required to enter licensed area, purchase or consume alcohol. Read More

 

Family Fun

Something for everyone, with face painting, clown and other activities for kids in the grassed and covered family area during the day.

Along with a two day race schedule Meekatharra comes alive with the Outback Festival. Featuring amusement rides, local artist exhibitions, market stalls, and a family fair and magnificent fireworks….. Saturday kicks off with a the fair, a street parade and the colour run before the races settle into full swing from 2pm. Don’t forget the Circus and then the Ball on Sunday.
